Looking at Christina and Laura's "Anti Hustle Club," I can't help but think: this needs to become a full-fledged movement. It would be infinitely more meaningful than the endless "Open to Work" trend flooding platforms like LinkedIn and Instagram.
For over a year now, that green "Open to Work" banner has been everywhere. You constantly see middle managers posting humbled updates: "It took a lot of courage to write this, but I've been laid off. Please help me find my next role!" The comments immediately fill up with responses like: "I've known Maja for ten years, highly recommend her! I don't have an opening myself, but commenting for reach."
On the surface, that looks like empathy and networking solidarity. But let me look at the actual reality: getting another corporate job inside the exact same hamster wheel doesn't solve a single systemic issue. The whole framework is fundamentally broken. If you can't see that, you're missing the bigger picture.
The solution to a broken system isn't begging to get back in. The real statement needs to be: "I quit! I'm done with the exploitation, the toxic pressure, and the dishonesty." If enough people step up and we hit a critical mass, we force the tipping points needed for real structural change. "Open to Work" is just a desperate attempt to keep an obsolete, rotting system on life support.
