My personal path toward the Economy for the Common Good grew out of very concrete steps:
- Online Community: I started out building the platform English as a Second Language (English Team), where I first learned how real networking works.
- Climate Action: Then came Greta Thunberg and my engagement with the Fridays for Future movement.
- Degrowth & Ostrom: Reading Jason Hickel’s book Less is More introduced me to post-growth economics. Hickel led me directly to Elinor Ostrom. In 2009, she became the first woman to win the Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences after proving a crucial truth: humans can manage shared resources (commons) sustainably without destroying them.
- Systemic Critique: That path connected me to the Konzeptwerk für Neue Ökonomie in Leipzig, Timothée Parrique, and David Graeber’s book Bullshit Jobs, which strongly echoed the Peter Principle for me.
