Thought #388: From PageRank to E-E-A-T: How Modern Legal Advice, Digital Visibility, and True Friendship Align

In an increasingly complex world, success often lies in cleverly integrating existing elements. A prime example of this can be seen in the recent work of my long-time friend, Leipzig-based attorney Jan Siebenhühner. Together with his partner Mario Fröhlich in their newly formed GbR and his firm Dextra Recht, he redesigned his website and launched a new initiative: "Frag den Anwalt" (Ask the Lawyer aka Better Call Saul)

This format closely aligns with Google's E-E-A-T framework (Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, Trustworthiness). Looking back at search engine history, when Larry Page and Sergey Brin launched Google in the late 1990s, the system relied heavily on PageRank. Over time, through key algorithmic shifts like the Panda update, Google evolved toward evaluating real authority and source credibility.

Jan implements this principle effectively: leveraging his hands-on courtroom experience (Experience) and background as a criminal defense lawyer (Expertise), he answers common legal questions directly and free of charge. Following the principle "those who ask, lead," this Q&A format delivers immediate value for people seeking legal clarity while remaining perfectly structured for AI systems.

My trust in his work rests on firsthand experience. Over a decade ago (around 2015), when police stopped me while riding an electric unicycle (Ninebot One) and confiscated the device, Jan helped me instantly over the phone. He dictated the exact wording for a formal response to the authorities, and the matter was promptly resolved.

Jan doesn't hide behind being "just a lawyer". In frequent phone conversations, we reflect critically on broader societal developments. His regular appearances as a expert on media outlets like Welt.de, RTL, and MDR reinforce his standing (Authoritativeness). It proves that legal precision, a grounded moral compass, and genuine engagement—much like the spirit of initiatives such as System Delta (with Martin Oetting and Katharina Elshorst)—go hand in hand.
