In earlier collaborative projects, open dialogue came naturally: instructors actively shared materials in forums and engaged learners in shared digital spaces. Today, despite detailed onboarding and freely shared resources, digital team channels often meet complete silence. Even across international teams, many participants default to passive isolation—offering zero feedback, engagement, or investment in building a shared community. While rarely done out of malice, it reveals a troubling sociological shift: we are unlearning the foundational habits required for an open, collaborative, and democratic culture.
