When I started in adult education back in the late 1990s, the culture was noticeably more human than it is today. The dehumanization of recent years grows in systems where personal responsibility is systematically dodged. But an organization isn't just an abstract entity—it is made up of individual people making daily choices. Everyone in a hierarchy retains some degree of personal judgment. Refusing to use that headroom and hiding behind rigid orders simply maintains a broken system. This creeping alienation at work directly feeds broader societal frustration and authoritarian reflexes.
