Through nebenan.de, we met Jana—a deeply resourceful person brimming with ideas. For instance, she knits mittens out of rescued wool scraps that would otherwise end up as textile waste. She also came up with the idea of becoming a "neighborhood reporter," highlighting independent, sustainable spots across Leipzig.
Over the weekend, she visited a café in Lindenau serving bread from the local Gebäck Genossenschaft (Bakery Cooperative). Today, we visited Café RUI in Gohlis (Wilhelm-Plesse-Straße 31)—a hidden gem run by a young couple from Hong Kong and Saxony. You can feel their passion right away, and they were excited about connecting with us and potentially becoming a pickup station for the bakery co-op.
Leipzig is full of these grassroots initiatives. Our mission at uno.team is to connect these dots so people realize: we aren't isolated, and we're building real momentum.
