What these traditional parades are really celebrating is pure feudalism—paying homage to lords, kings, and nobility. It runs completely counter to public welfare, civic responsibility, and modern equality. All this ceremonial pomp is heavily male-dominated and patriarchal to the core. On top of that, you get military brass music, marching in lockstep, and martial posturing.
It’s depressing that public television still broadcasts this as something to look up to. We shouldn't be conditioning Gen Z with these backward mindsets. Instead of glorifying feudalism, we should show how these local structures can be transformed into spaces for real participation, feminism, and a Common Good mindset.
