The following lines are from the song "Wenn man Nazis so behandelte wie Frauen" by Daniel Pongratz, aka Danger Dan. I find them so brilliant that I am sharing them here without further commentary:
[Verse 1]
In the media coverage, militant defense
Kept many, even as a last resort, sitting on the fence.
Searching for concepts on how to face right-wing bands,
That we can all agree on, proven throughout the land—
I looked at what society accepts every day,
Taken as God-given, but working anyway.
Got it: we shouldn't beat up Nazis, it seems.
But what if instead—
I know it sounds wild, but hear what I said—
We treated them like women in our social regimes?
[Verse 2]
When you meet them in the street, catcall and sneer,
Ogle them lustfully, comment unasked in their ear
On how they look and dress; tell them with flattering style
That besides looking pretty, they're useless all the while.
Harass them here and there, a hand on the rear—
If they complain, say they asked for it, clear.
Otherwise, why dress and act that way?
That’s how women and girls have been treated every day.
Don't take them seriously, in sorrow or pleasure,
And give them chocolates and flowers for frustration's measure.
Interrupt them, explain what they think they know best—
You don't feel guilty doing that to women, no stress.
Pay them less money for equal work done,
Block their path to executive roles, one by one.
Leave them the housework, the kitchen, the child,
And don't forget a few cases of domestic abuse gone wild.
[Verse 3]
Build a society where from childhood they're raised
To be quieter and more reserved, keeping them subdued and phased.
So they learn very early to bow and submit,
And that demanding their rights is just an annoying fit.
If they complain and fight for what’s fair and right,
Call them hysterical, say they need sex at night.
Make them afraid to walk through the park alone after dark—
That’s how it’s worked with women for centuries, stark.
The crime statistics would suddenly shift into view
If we did to Nazis what to women we do.
A hundred and fifty murders a year seem just fine—
By partners or exes of women, in Germany’s line.
Nobody bats an eye, it’s hardly a debate,
Left unchanged, accepted as a natural state.
Yet my list here remains full of gaps, I’m afraid—
Just like the clearance rate for sexual crimes that are made.
