The graphical web took off in the mid-1990s as Windows 95, computer mice, and HTML replaced command-line terminals, text-based mailing lists, and Usenet newsgroups. For the first time, users could navigate visually via icons and click through dynamic web pages. Over the decades, the web evolved through forums, blogs, Content Management Systems like WordPress, and modern no-code platforms like Webflow. Today, however, we are witnessing the next major evolutionary leap: the traditional Graphical User Interface (GUI) is losing its role as the primary gateway to information. Instead of clicking through static websites, users increasingly interact with direct, conversational AI interfaces.
