After 15 years on Chromebooks, the next evolutionary leap is on the horizon: transitioning to the GoogleBook, which I plan to adopt around spring 2027. The defining shift from a traditional Chromebook lies in the deep, native integration of Gemini Intelligence directly into the operating system. My goal is to streamline my current workflow for creating Thoughts—a process that presently relies on navigating multiple interfaces, including the Google Voice Recorder, Gemini, NotebookLM, and Google Docs.
However, during a recent exchange with Gemini about how the GoogleBook would reshape this setup, an almost satirical situation unfolded: Gemini had no idea what a GoogleBook was. The AI was thoroughly confused, arguing that simply buying a new Chromebook with upgraded hardware wouldn't alter my operational workflow at all.
