The inner workings and character of major state-certified education providers (AZAV) strongly remind me of my time with the East German border guards. There is a rigid chain of command rooted in Prussian military tradition: zero room for questioning, where titles, rank, and hierarchical status dictate everything. So-called "instructor management" doesn't foster dialogue with the educators working directly with clients every day; it functions merely as a human algorithm for surveillance and control. Where military compliance rules, educational quality and human dignity are abandoned to preserve pure power structures. This begs the question: what does any of this have to do with our so-called "free and democratic basic order"? There is nothing free or democratic about it. This hypocrisy mirrors the dying breaths of the SED dictatorship—and it is a primary driver behind the resurging threat of fascism.
